Muskogee, OK-September 11, 2009 - Again this year, Rotarians joined forces with representatives of many Muskogee organizations to assist Lake Area United Way partner agencies address unmet needs.

Eleven members of Rotary Club of Muskogee enjoyed breakfast together, then adjourned to the local Salvation Army center where they spent the morning painting the communal dining room and cleaning the dining tables and chairs. The Club also took care of preparing all holiday greeting cards for the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) organization again this year, a small task that frees staff to focus on the children for whom they advocate.

Local State Farm agent and Rotarian, Larry Hoffman, organized the group and commented, "Helping a local United Way Agency is what Rotary is all about".

The Muskogee Rotary volunteers were: Janey Boydston, David G. Jones, Melissa Branch, Larry Hoffman, Melinda Murphy, George Hackbarth, Sam Fowler, Kim Lynch, Lindsey Roberts and two other volunteers, Catherine Clay and Elizabeth Cookson.
