Janet Guthrie was honored for her years of service during the Nevada Middle School Science Fair assembly by the Nevada Rotary Club. Dr. Jason Meisenheimer spoke briefly about Guthrie's influence on students and the community and then presented her with a bouquet and a plaque which reads, "In recognition of your dedication to excellence in science education and in shaping the the future of our community."
